My name’s Laura Zerra and I’m a survivalist, adventurist, and adrenaline junkie. I live for epic moments of unparalleled beauty and excitement, and enjoy destroying the edges of my comfort zone. My journey has taken me from freight trains in Mexico to hobo encampments in Chicago, from antler hunting in Idaho to extreme survival in Panama, coast to coast and across boarders. The best part is, this is just the beginning.
The travels and life experiences I seek out aren’t escapes from reality, but serve as reminders of how incredible life is. Beyond the everyday grind, I’ve learned that the world is hungry for you to get off your ass. The more I open myself to amazing experiences, the more amazing experiences I have. Weird, right? My transformation from a vegan to a hunter was an incredible part of me becoming who I am. The deep and visceral understanding it gave me of the sacrifice it takes to keep me alive made me want to wring everything I can from each moment. You have to make it worth it, you know?“Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon? Tell me, what is it you plan to do, with your one wild and precious life?” -Mary OliverAlot, Mary Oliver. A lot.
Right on! Keep doing what you’re doing and carpe the hell of out the diem, because we’re only here once and life is about adventure and appreciation! 🙂
and more then self.
Hi Laura, I thoroughly enjoyed your surprise re entry into the show. Your skills, attitude and beauty rock! Set an example, I hope more people get to see you in action 🙂
I was beginning to think that the lost art of women roughing it was exactly that- lost.. Until I began watching Discovery Channel! Thank goodness there is still a few tough women out there- Good job, Laura, you are an inspiration for those stay in the house ladies (nothing wrong with that), but it is nice to see the art of “roughing it” is still out there in this high tech age…
Good work, incredible work!
Yeah, she is actually the first woman I’ve seen that seeks the fullness of life, more so than any others I have seen, Karen would be the 2nd but only because there is not many to relate it to. Laura is on the right track, as long as she don’t let external shoulds distract her. There are people in need, learning the way is great in all, but then you need to learn to apply.
Laura, like they said. Your a great role model, let me know if you want to take it further, further then any survival school will teach, which you already know, because you mostly have a handle on a lot of it, the “it” that most survival schools don’t teach.
Laura, your exceptional and so super awesome and kick ass. Your survival skills, presences and respect for nature are so impressive. I think you are really beautiful too! Do you have any appearances scheduled for Chicago this year?
